Diane Simiu heads the Carbon Markets Unit of the Directorate General for Energy and Climate at the French Ministry of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable Development and the Sea. She focuses on issues related to the European Union Emissions Trading System as well as international carbon markets. Prior to this, Diane worked for as a consultant for ICF International and PricewaterhouseCoopers, providing carbon market and sustainability strategy insights to utilities, industrial companies, financial institutions and NGOs. She is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and holds a master’s degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley.
